PROFILE
– JOHN JOHNSTON
I have over 30 years experience in management roles with a number
of organisations in both the private and public sectors. Through the years
I have delivered many presentations and training sessions to small and large
groups of people from all walks of life. I have held the position of
President of my Golf Club for a number of years and have also held the
position of President of the West Australian Golf League. I am very
comfortable presenting to small or large groups and believe that my
personality and confidence enables me to perform the duties of a Celebrant
to a very high standard.
I have been an authorised Marriage Celebrant for many years now and
my satisfaction comes from working with you to develop a ceremony that is
very special to you. After all, the ceremony should be the most important
part of your day.
The law requires all celebrants to include some
specific words as part of the ceremony to satisfy the legal requirements –
any Celebrant (no matter which one you choose) will use these words. The
remainder of the ceremony is what separates one Celebrant from another.
My goal is to make your ceremony unique to you – I know
your wedding day is very special to you and I will do my part to make it a
service you will remember forever. There are many personal choices that you
can add to the ceremony to make it something special. These range from your
choice of a selection of readings, special inclusions such as Hand Fasting,
Rose Ceremony, Reflection on the Hands, Warming of the Rings, etc – all
designed to give your ceremony something unique. I will be very happy to
discuss these with you to make your day “that something special” for you
and your guests.
MY SERVICES TO
YOU INCLUDE:-
·
Getting to know you – an initial meeting with you both to give me the opportunity to
get to know a little about you and to complete the Notice of Intended
Marriage form (legal requirement).
·
Advising you – of the legal
requirements surrounding your marriage and providing you with required
reference material;
·
Obtaining information from you – such as the type of ceremony that you would like and any special
inclusions that you might like to consider;
·
Helping you to develop your Vows – your vows should be “that something special” that you would like
to say to each other;
·
Being there for advice – should you need any assistance leading up to the ceremony;
·
Attending a requirements on the rehearsal – I highly recommend that you hold a rehearsal one or two days/nights
before the ceremony. This will enable all your wedding party to be aware of
their day (eg where to stand, what to do, etc);
·
An assistant on the day – who will assist the wedding party on their arrival and assist me
with the set up prior to your arrival;
·
Delivering the ceremony – in a professional manner and providing a professional sound
system to ensure that all your guests will be able to hear the entire
ceremony. My system has multiple microphone facilities and can also provide
all your music requirements on the day, if required (input from CD, iPod or
memory stick).
